jack's three!!

jack's three!!! THREE!! he's such a fun three year old too:) of course, he had strawberry cake for his birthday, and this time it was sammy that had to be restrained while jack blew out the candles:) jack was much more careful with his cake this year- the past two years, he ate so much he gave himself a tummyache. i think he's learned his lesson. jack actually saved some cake for the next day!

richard's a chub. he's 15 pounds!!! sammy's thirty pounds and 14 months older!! he's just sooooo cute:) especially when he laughs:)

halloween

happy belated halloween! audrey and jack got to go to the trunk-or-treat this year, and they had so much fun. it was scheduled past their bedtimes, so i stayed home with sleeping sammy and richard, while jacob took audrey and jack to the church for some fun. the kids ripped around the gym with the other primary children and by the time the trunk-or-treat started, they were exhausted. they were each leaned up against jacob's legs, but still willing to get candy. once all the cars were ready, the kids were lined up. jacob told me that audrey wouldn't stay in the line. when he asked her why, audrey's response was, " i'm too excited daddy!" jack was a littly grouchy at first since he was so tired, but once he saw what was happening, he quickly woke up:) they came home with so much candy!!!

he was really upset whenever people called him batman:)



potty

jack's fully potty trained! we've been telling him for weeks now that when he turns three, he doesn't wear pull-ups anymore, just undies. at first he didn't want to put on the underwear, so he went commando all day. he didn't have a single accident, told me when he needed to sit on the potty for both pee and poo, then proceeded to do it himself! jacob and i are amazed! we were totally geared up for a huge, many months- long process, but jack has surprised us beyond expectation:) good boy! he finally agreed to wear undies after i told him that daddy wears undies, too. jack wants to be just like daddy, so that worked:)

audrey discovered that if she jumped up and down in front of richard, he would laugh. so she jumped. for a half hour, audrey jumped and jumped and jumped:) she even got jack to jump, too. when she got tired, she grabbed a book and started reading to richard while jack jumped up and down. then it was jack's turn to entertain richard. first he had rar jump, then he started shaking toys in front of richard and tried to have him hold the toys. when that didn't work, jack just put the toys on richard's lap:)

four years old!!

audrey's four. FOUR!!! wasn't she just born yesterday? she had a wonderful birthday...cupcakes at school, a special birthday crown, plus a strawberry birthday cake after dinner:) she didn't open any presents, yet, as we're saving them for her birthday party. we're having a halloween party this year- when i asked audrey what she wanted to do for her birthday, she said, "be a unicorn":) right. costume party it is!!
