buzz lightyear

this is jack in his buzz costume. he kept turning around in circles trying to see his wings light up:)

smiley sammy

sammy is just a happy little kid! he smiles all the time...about anything! nothing upsets him except hunger or gas, but that's understandable;) he makes friends wherever we take him! it's hard to not smile at a baby that smiles so easily:)

my helper

audrey's my little helper! her newest thing is to help us feed sammy- and by help, i mean she does it herself:) sammy loves when audrey feeds him! when she's finished with her "helping" sammy will turn his head to follow her, hoping she'll come back:)

storytime

i've been doing a lot of singing with the kids ever since i was called as primary chorister. they love singing, and they love singing with hand motions and pictures most of all. nana ou bought us this wonderful nursery rhyme book that audrey loves. i think we read this book at least five times a day. she'll sing along with me and do all the hand motions! audrey's definitely ready for primary:)

just because

i can't help myself...the kids are just sooooo cute:)

if you look closely, jack's hat is also buzz. he just sat there in his buzz shirt and buzz hat saying "buzzwoody" over and over again. i think he was in toystory 2 heaven:)

family playtime

jacob took a few days off work over labor day and we took the kids out everyday. they were soooo tired after the holiday that it took them two days to recuperate:) sammy also tried the swings for the first time and he loved it! the kids liked pushing sammy in the swing too:)

this is one of the bridges in the park across the street from us- she thought she saw a fish swimming under the bridge:)

she's looking for the fish...apparently it swam upstream.

costume madness

halloween came early this year! jack got a buzz lightyear costume from nana and papa ou and just had to try it on. which meant that audrey had to put on her princess costume:) i think this all started when jacob brought home this really funny hat from work. the kids loved it so much, they wore it for awhile- until daddy brought it back to work:)

caped crusaders

jack's been dragging his blanket with him everywhere- kind of like linus- so i tied his blanket around his neck, just to see if it would fit, and the two of them liked it so much they ran around chasing jacob:) the both had a really bad case of the giggles while they were running, and i think it's because their blankets were tickling their necks as they ran:) it's hard to be scared of a superhero when they're giggling behind you:)

sleepy little girl

here's the pic of audrey sleeping on the potty:) she just folded herself in half and fell asleep. the next day, she made a"daddy yellow in baby potty":) then she sat on the couch with a HUGE bowl of chocolate chips:) every so often, she would look at us with cute chocolate smile and say "i put yellow in potty and now i eat chocolate chips":) too cute!!

this is just one of the many different things audrey does on the potty. we're trying everything to keep her entertained so she'll sit long enough to relax and let the pee out. this one worked pretty well...she sat for fifteen minutes!

hooray for audrey

audrey finally peed in the kiddy potty all on her own!!! she's been potty training for a week now, and while she would tel us she needed to pee, she wouldn't let the pee out into the potty. today, after we came hom from swimming, she told jacob she needed to "sit on potty" and then she let it out!! yea!!! audrey's a big girl now!

chubby wubby little boy

sammy's sooooo chubby! he has these cheeks that are made for kisses and pinching:) it's very difficult to resist the lure of chubby little cheeks:)








these pics were fun to take...i put the camera on the floor and just snapped away...sammy was vveeerryyy interested in the little black thing that had flashy lights.

oliver loves babies, which is why sammy gets to pet him so much more than audrey and jack, whom he runs from because they squeal whenever they see him. what a wussy pussycat:)






he chews on EVERYTHING!! he prefers hard plastic things and fingers. oh and oliver's tail:)

hugs

the kids have started to understand that "hugs mean love"- something we've been telling them every time we hug them. they've finally started to learn that hugs can also mean from sibling to sibling, not just parent to child:)

the demise of the fort

sooo...the couch cushions are perfect for fort building, much to audrey's enjoyment. the only thing is, jack doesn't quite understand the duck and crawl aspect of the fort. the following pictures chronicle the demise of the fort and a very happy little boy:)

audrey was sooooooo mad at jack after he destroyed the fort. she ran off into their room to sulk and jack just sat on the couch after i put the cushions back. needless to say, this game is not be played again until jack can appreciate the art of fort building:)
