reading

jack's licking an ice pack:)

jack

this is how i found jack yesterday morning. he told me he was watching dinosaur train, which was on pbs at the time

audrey's reading "otto the cat" to jack. there's a video of this too:)

hopscotch

it took an entire afternoon of practicing, but audrey can now hop on one foot and play hopscotch!

she told me that when she wears the crown, she's a princess, but when she takes it off, she's "just audrey":)

in love with richard

the kids adore their new little brother:) their favorite thing to do is watch him sleep and point at his toes and fingers. this gets kind of tiring, mostly because we have to hold sammy up to see richard and sammy is HEAVY:)

like all the other kids- richard's favorite place to sleep:)

he has eyes!!

aren't they cute? and yes, richard has already learned how to roll onto his side.

sammy likes to poke- he found richard's eyes the other day:) i guess he figured it's his turn to poke after all the poking jack put him through:)

audrey's making what she thinks is a giraffe sound(it sounds like a hurt elephant) and jack found buttons. of course:)

the four munchkins

we have four!! during the third trimester, we talked about richard and what it meant to have another child born into our family. audrey really liked talking about richard, and now that he's here, she's completely enthralled with him. she wants to help out with every aspect of richard. we think it's just wonderful as she does need to learn what being a mother is all about, so she shadows me and asks questions about everything i do for richard. everything about him is little- "mommy, he has little toes, and little ears, and little fingers":) i love having her follow me around, i love that she's so curious about richard, and i especially love that she asks questions. how else would she learn? jack and sammy like to bounce richard in the bouncer chair and every so often, jack will just stand and smile at richard and pat him on the head:) sammy actually said richard the other day! he was crying in the bassinet, sammy pointed at it and said "wichad":) anyway, here are some pics of the kids and richard with his eyes OPEN( he would not open his eyes for the first two days):)
he has chicken fuzz for hair! jacob fluffs it up as often as possible:)

look at the size difference between sammy and richard!

no clothes!

sammy does not like clothes. if he had things his way, he would be naked all the time, making puddles everywhere:) we put his jammies on him on evening and sammy proceeded to take his shirt off all by himself. it took about 15 minutes of him crying and getting mad at us, but it was so funny to watch, we didn't want to interfere:) that made him even more mad:)

my ballerina

when nana ou came to visit, one of the presents she brought was a very pink and girly tutu for audrey. audrey loves twirling around in it, "just like ruby", from max and ruby:) she just loved girly things and told me she now needs some ballerina shoes:)

our newest addition

welcome to the world richard joseph zong- zhi turner! he was born july 3, at 845 am- 7 pounds 2 ounces, 22 inches long! i was soooo happy to finally have him out! he was two weeks early, but that was a huge blessing. any longer in there and i think he would have rivaled sammy in weight:) the labor was long- 12 hours- but i had an epidural and pretty much just layed in bed until it came time to push. that's when things went south. the epidural, despite being turned up and a second dosage of something stronger, didn't work! it numbed my entire body, except the one place that needed it the most, so i felt every one of those seven minutes that it took to push richard out. don't EVER want to feel that again:) anyway- here are some pics of the new little man. he hasn't actually woken up for anything, not even food. he just kind of opens his mouth, ii nurse and then he goes back to sleep. apparently, 12 hours of labor is really hard on babies:)
