school kids!

they're off into the big wide world of all day school! audrey's in first grade this year! first grade! and it's french immersion, which she's thrilled about, too:) jacob's been reviewing his french and teaching her basic words all summer long and every time he spoke to her, she would giggle:) she's in the same class has her friend, julia, from church, and they sit right next to each other:) apparently they got to chose their seats:) oh, and she gets to take the bus home from school. so this year is shaping up to be a pretty good year for our big girl:) jack's in all day kindergarten with ms, singh, audrey's teacher last year. she did wonders for audrey's writing, so we're happy that jack will be with a teacher where we know how he will be taught. so far, he's loving school. he came home the first day and told me he got to "play with all the toys" and that he "likes the dinosaur with the long neck the most":) i miss them both so much when they're at school, but i'm also enjoying having sammy, richard, and jimmy all to myself. sammy's been saying the funniest things lately, and i'm going to have to start writing them down:)

oh i love my kids

this summer has been one of the best summers, mostly because it's the first one where I'M NOT PREGNANT:) which means i have more energy to play and i'm not encumbered by a huge tummy or all the joyous aches that come with carrying around a huge tummy:) we spent the summer home, since sammy was potty training, ( he surprised us by being fully potty trained in a week), and enjoying the time at home. this was the last time i would have all the kids at home with me everyday. once the school year started, audrey and jack would both be in all day school and it would be just me, sammy, richard, and jimmy at home. i was savouring the days of having the five of my monkeys around me, listening to them play, sing, talk, playing with them in their made up games, and mostly just enjoying the chaos of five wonderfully active and adorable children. now that school has started, i'm going through child withdrawal. i'll get over it though, since jimmy is NEVER GOING TO GROW UP:)

nana's visit

nana came to visit at the end of august! the kids had a fabulous week, made even more so by their first visit to wonderland:)
